Sumeet Vyas's directorial debut Raat Jawaan Hai is a eight episode series that mainly focuses on the theme of balancing childhood friendship with parenthood in the modern age. It is the story of three best friends Avinash (Barun Sobti), Suman (Priya Bapat) and Radhika (Anjali Anand) and the challenges they face while they take care of their children with a balance of friendship in them. It mainly highlights the balance they try to find between their kids, friendship and the society.

In the world where parenting does seem like a difficult job than the corporate world this series brilliantly captures the journey of three friends who manage the whirlwind of parenting together. Each lead character potrays a diffrent approach to parenting. Suman the more traditional housewife who tries to find a stability between home and her child while Radhika is the over possessive mother who left her corporate job for her child. Unlike Avinash a stay at home dad (SAHD) challenging the gender roles. Despite all that the one thing that remains the same is the bond that strengthens each day no matter what the situation is. Raat Jawaan Hai draws viewers into this wild ride showcasing those relatable moments that will engross you from the very first episode.

The main reason for this show to work is because of Sumeet Vyas the director of this series who previously works include Tripling and Permanent Roommates. His understanding of relationship and parenthood makes the show highly entertaining and emotional at the same time. The nuances portrayed in this series is the perfect balance between the struggles and the joy parents face in today's world. Whether its an episode of the trio picking a perfect day to the watch the latest Avengers or the one where it explores the under appreciated love a father has for his child. Every story has a connect with the audience that makes it highly appealing.

There are moments in this series that are poignant yet has a lasting impact on the viewers. A Fitbit uncle who they discover while in the search of the help Radhika needs. The way the uncle declines the lift by saying he has to complete his 10,000 steps is the moment which is going to bring a grin on your face. Also the moment where the owner maushi stands up for Radhika while two men stare at her. These everyday interactions seem to have been woven beautifully intricated together to create the heartwarming moments that is surely going to be pertinent.

One of the major highlight of this sitcom is the music that throughout resonates the thoughts deep down into the soul. The title track by OAFF and Nikita Gandhi is the perfect song that is surely going to lift your spirits in an instant. Also the soothing background score by Anurag Saikia perfectly fits the tone of the series blending in it. Also the cinematography of Jay Patel clearly captures the essense of the beautiful city making it more pleasing.

The other thing that makes this series a delight is the wonderful cast that makes you want to watch this series. Barun Sobti as Avinash is going to make all you guys swoon as a SAHD who embraces his role wholeheartedly with utter joy. Anjali as Radhika is the character that displays the strength and vulnerability with equal amounts. Priya as Suman is shy yet caring and that endearing friend who keeps you together even in the bad times. The supporting cast Priyansh Jora, Hasleen Kaur, and Vikram Singh Rathore offer depth to the storyline while the child actors Raayan Nikhil Kanchan, Jia Aman Yagnik, and Khushvik Sharma create a unique charm which makes the plot more empathetic.

Raat Jawaan Hai written and created by Khyati Anand Puthran on the whole is the entertaining and the binge worthy series that strikes a balance between humour and all those heartfelt moments. Although the series slants towards the light moments of parenting but also focuses on deeper issues like financial issues, intimate feelings and all that time management. It may not dwell deep on the modern struggles of modern day parenting but it offers plenty of humour, comfort and a fresh take on the trials on life's adventures. So if you are looking for something light, comforting and the one that offers you a break from your busy life.
