Some films entertain, some impress, and then there are those rare ones that completely pull you into their world leaving you in awe, making you question everything you thought you knew. Empuraan is exactly that kind of film. It doesn’t just pick up where Lucifer left off; it expands the universe, deepens the mystery, and makes you rethink every scene from its predecessor.

When Lucifer hit the screens in 2019, it wasn’t just another political thriller it was a visual experience. It gave us Stephen Nedumpally, a man who was much more than he seemed, revealing himself as the enigmatic Khureshi Ab’raam. But if Lucifer was a mere glimpse into his world, Empuraan is the grand unveiling. This isn’t just a sequel but a  bold statement. A declaration that the game has only begun, and the stakes are far beyond what we imagined.

So, when I heard it was releasing I decided to get hold of my excitement and got a ticket to the brilliant masterpiece. The entire film made me swell with some pride that a Malayalam film has become equal to a Hollywood level. So without wasting any more time lets me share my thoughts on this film.

Every move Ab’raam makes feels calculated, every dialogue feels loaded, and every character has a purpose in this grand chess game of power.

Mohanlal once again proves why he is one of the finest actors in Indian cinema. As Khureshi Ab’raam, he brings an unmatched aura of authority and mystery, making every scene he’s in feel larger than life. His ability to switch between calm composure and explosive intensity keeps the audience hooked, adding depth to his enigmatic character. His style, aura and the charm he adds gives an extra layer to the mysterious character he plays.

The supporting cast is equally brilliant, each delivering performances that enhance the film’s intrigue. Prithviraj Sukumaran, apart from directing, makes a strong impact with his screen presence. Other key players, including Manju Warrier and Tovino Thomas, add layers to the story, making every interaction meaningful. Also, every character that even had a glimpse in the story plays a huge part in elevating the screenplay to a higher level. With a cast that blends veteran actors and fresh faces, Empuraan ensures that every performance leaves a lasting impression.
